UTL vs Luminous
Two brands that cover the same ground: solar inverters, batteries, panels and charge controllers. Their warranties are closer than most sales talk suggests, and each one comes out ahead on different products.

On a 150 Ah tubular battery the warranties match. Luminous comes out ahead on an off-grid solar PCU, and UTL on a grid-connected hybrid system. We stock both brands, so the useful question is which one suits your system.

Choose UTL if
- You want a grid-connected hybrid system. The Sigma+ PCU in UTL’s hybrid kits lists 5 years.
- You want the whole system from one brand, including DCR panels for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy and lithium-ready inverters.
- You need on-grid string inverters for a larger roof. UTL lists them from 1.5 kW to 125 kW.
Choose Luminous if
- You want an off-grid PCU with a longer warranty. The Solarverter PRO lists 36 months.
- You already run a Luminous home inverter and want parts from the same brand.

Is UTL better than Luminous?
On some products. UTL's Sigma+ hybrid PCU lists a 5-year warranty, longer than the 36 months on Luminous's Solarverter PRO. For an off-grid PCU, Luminous's 36 months is longer than the 2 years on UTL's Gamma units. Their 150 Ah tubular battery warranties match.
Which is better for an inverter battery, UTL or Luminous?
Compare exact models. Luminous lists 36 months free and 24 months pro-rata on its 150 Ah Inverlast ILTT 18060 PRO. UTL lists 36 + 24 months on its 150 Ah UIT16036 and 60 months on its heavier UST1560.
