UTL vs Waaree solar panels

Waaree is a major Indian panel maker, and UTL sells panels alongside its inverters and batteries. On the TOPCon modules we compared, the power warranties are level and the efficiencies are within a point of each other.

Waaree’s 700 Wp TOPCon bifacial module lists a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty at 22.32% efficiency. UTL’s 545 W TOPCon bifacial panel lists a 30-year performance warranty at 22.74%, and its 630 Wp G12R TOPCon panel lists 23.32%. For a subsidised home system, DCR status matters more than either figure: the Waaree module we compared is non-DCR, and UTL lists DCR TOPCon modules at 580 W and 625 W.

  • You want DCR TOPCon panels for a subsidised home system, from the same brand as your inverter and battery.
  • Roof space is tight, where the higher listed efficiency helps a little.

Choose Waaree if

  • You need a 700 Wp class module for a large commercial roof, and the product warranty term matters most to you.

Is UTL or Waaree better for solar panels?

On the TOPCon models we compared, both list a 30-year power warranty, and UTL's models list slightly higher efficiency: 23.32% and 22.74%, against 22.32% for Waaree's 700 Wp module. Waaree's module is the larger one, at 700 Wp.

Is the Waaree 700 Wp panel DCR?

The Waaree 700 Wp TOPCon module we checked is listed as non-DCR. For a subsidised home system, check that the exact model is DCR and ALMM-listed before buying.

Which panel is right for PM Surya Ghar?

Any brand's DCR panel on the ALMM list qualifies. UTL lists DCR TOPCon modules at 580 W and 625 W.
